Prof. Samar is an international speaker and consultant for the development of the health care team in the Middle East and Member in several scientific societies. She also consults, reviews educational programs and coordinates workshops in the field of Quality Assurance and accreditation. | Research Interests | Her main research interest is application of nanotechnology for drug delivery through different routes (oral, nasal, ophthalmic and transdermal). Vesicular drug delivery systems have attracted her attention since she started her PhD. Drug targeting to different organs (brain, liver and lung) as well has been a major research concern. Her ongoing research can be divided into the following clusters:
1- Passive and active targeting by Nano-carriers
• Studying the role of NP physicochemical properties, intracellular localization and release profiles, serum proteins and NP opsonization in cancer targeting
2- Transdermal drug delivery
• Determination of the applicability of transdermal NPs in cancer targeting via the enhanced permeation and retention (EPR) effect |
