The Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology organized the first online practical workshop entitled "Green Nanotechnology- Synthesis of Nanoparticles using Natural Extracts" instructed by Assoc. Prof. Heba Handoussa and Dr. Salma Tammam from 01 to 05 October 2020. In the 6-days workshop, participants conducted practical work at home, using simple household equipment and materials provided in a kit as workshop material. In addition to lab manual guidance, the workshop included pre-recorded lectures and a live interactive session at start of each day. The pre-recorded lectures included demonstrational practical videos prepared by the instructors, while the live sessions served as panel during which students discussed and inquired prior to practical work. The instructors were also available via chat all through the practical work. This workshop introduces students to a number of theoretical concepts and a diverse set of practical skills in the comfort and safety of their own homes such as nanoparticle synthesis and characterization using green approaches, medicinal herbs extraction and screening of some phytochemical constituents
