Novel small PD-L1 inhibitory molecules wins 3 awards

The masters work of Monica Akram, senior teaching assistant received the audience award and the 3rd position award on Falling Wall of Berlin Lab Cairo, in addition to The Rosalyn and Leo Fried Memorial award by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases -AASLD in November 2020. The work is supervised by Dr. Hend M. El Tayebi (Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Clinical Pharmacy) and Dr. Yasmine Mandour (former member of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry). In the project, 8 novel small PD-L1 inhibitory molecules that were discovered through a multi-step virtual screening protocol applied on SPECS database that were able to regulate pivotal signaling pathways in liver carcinogenesis.
