On Campus - GUC

NMR spectroscopy is the most important analytical method for structure elucidation of organic compounds. The practice-oriented workshop aims at teaching the use of a complete set of NMR data to solve any molecular structure problem. The discussed problems include not only 1D NMR  (1H, 13C, DEPT) but also 2D NMR techniques (H,H-COSY, HMQC, HMBC, TOCSY, NOESY). The target group are advanced Pharmacy and Biotechnology students (≥ 5th semester) and Teaching Assistants working in the field of organic, medicinal, and natural products chemistry. Although the workshop focuses on structure elucidation training sessions, it will also include practical demonstrations of sample preparation, data recording, and data processing using a modern 400 MHz NMR spectrometer present on campus since 2016
